New Members

Membership is open to anyone who is interested in enthusiastically promoting and
participating in Tamworth Musical Theatre Company whether that be as a performing, or non-performing member. We are a friendly, welcoming society, and the perfect place to meet new friends with similar interests.

We are a social society, and often arrange events such quiz nights, day trips and meals to socialise outside of rehearsals.

Membership is open to adults age 16+ (as of opening night) for our Adult branch, and ages 8-16 for our Youth branch.

Adult Performing Members

We rehearse twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7:30-10pm at Bancroft Community Centre. A rehearsal schedule is produced for all performances, and we endeavor to make sure that everyone is kept busy and only attends rehearsals when they’re needed.

Particularly during the early stages of rehearsals, it may be that Ensemble performers are only required one day per week but this will be agreed by the Production Team prior to a rehearsal run starting.

At the beginning of each show, a launch night will be held, during which, the Production Teams vision for the show, any important dates, information and audition details will be shared. If you are unable to attend the launch night, we can share these details by email too – just drop us a message! Keep an eye on our social media and website for updates on when the next Launch Night will be. Our Launch night for Wish You Were Here will be held on 10th April 2024 at 7:30pm at Bancroft Community Centre – Further details can be found here.

To join the society as a performing member, you will be required to perform a short singing audition in front of three committee members, however this is nothing to be worried about, you don’t need to sound like Whitney Houston! If your joining membership is successful, you will then be asked to pay your annual membership subscription and will become eligible to audition for principal roles. You usually do not need to audition for an ensemble role, though this may vary from show to show.

We also charge a small, monthly performing fee. This, a long side your membership fee, goes towards the running of the society, including rehearsal space rental, costumes, props, set, etc! Up to date membership and performing fees will be shared at our Launch Nights, but can be requested via social media message/email should you require.

Youth Performing Members

Our youth group is open to all abilities aged 8-16. We rehearse on a Wednesday evening from 6pm to 7:30pm at Bancroft Community Centre. Our youth group is currently in its infancy, launching in April 2024, though over the coming months and years, we aim to build a thriving community of talented young performers who perform not only alongside our adult members, but in their own stand alone productions too.

Your first session is always free, and following that we charge a small four weekly fee, payable in advance by standing order. To get involved or request more information on up to date fees etc, please contact us on Instagram, Facebook or via email [email protected].

Non-performing Members

If you don’t want to be under the bright lights, but would still like to get involved with the society, we are always on the look out for non-performing members too. There are a multitude of different tasks that go into the successful running of the society and a job to match most skillsets! Some examples of roles available include:

Director, Choreographer, Musical Director, Orchestra Member, Stage Manager, Stage Crew, Make Up Artist, Wardrobe, Props Master, Set Builders, Set Painters, Sound Engineer, Lighting Engineer, Chaperones, Front of House Helpers.

If you would like to get involved as a non-performing member, please reach out to us via Social Media message or by emailing [email protected].
